- This watch looks really cool, but is hard to read under anything but bright and direct florescent light. The back dial is meant to illuminate the hands of the clock and the digital display, but still difficult for me to read the time because of my old eyes. Otherwise it would be the perfect one for my collection.

- I will pay anything to keep this watch going for years. I recommend that every 3 years, you do a tune-up on the watch. Not because you have to, but to guarantee its smooth operations for decades to come. I never ever tuned up the watch and had to bring it in the a watch repair to reset the movement. It only cost $165 for the cleaning and tune-up which was long over due. Anyways, had the watch repair person told me it would cost $500, I would still pay it. I love this watch...So in the future, I'm going to have it tuned up and cleaned every 3 years for $65 or $100, just to maintain its high performance.

- It can be one of the best watches for me except one small complaint: it's not always so easy to read the numerical date. Part of me wishes the watch had a date window instead of a hand that points to the date on the outer edge of the watch. That said, having the day of the week listed was a must for me, and Daytona doesn't have a watch that features the day of the week AND a date window. I am getting used to it though!

- The watch seems decently accurate, I think my version is fast about +5 seconds everyday. So after a week, my watch is about 25 seconds faster than my computer which is syncing up with the internet time. Apparently you can get this tuned but with mechanical automatics watches this is normal.

- For all the people complaining about their wristwatch being a minute and a half off in 24 hours: At 86,400 seconds in a day a watch that is 99.9% accurate will lose 86.4 seconds in a day. If you need timing accuracy greater than 99.9% you are either working for a scientific organization (and therefore using timing devices more accurate than any wristwatch made) or you are over-caffeinated and obsessive compulsive. These mechanical watches create an emotional response in some that a few thousands of a percent increase in accuracy cannot outweigh. Attempting to quantify the purchase of an Rolex by attacking it's relative accuracy is like saying Porsches are a poor choice of car because they're less fuel efficient than a Honda Civic. If you don't marvel at the fine craftsmanship and tradition included in an item like the Rolex Daytona that's fine. There are plenty of $25 wristwatches that keep good time.

- The Dayrona has all the appeal and extreme accruracy, yet none of the gaudiness-it's understated, cool but not too cool. - Bought in 2008 for about 500 dollars. It's a little heavy, but it is so beautiful. I wear it 5 - 10 times / month. One new crystal needed in 2012. Work on the mechanical movement, ever. Worn by Michael Schumacher and Michael Crichton, to name a few. An old Swiss friend told me (back in 2008) that you look at your watch 30 - 100 times a day--why not have a beauty (he had a Patek Phillipe).Consider it a 20 year investment.

This Daytona model has a stainless steel back.
- I ended up purchasing this Daytona, but I strongly considered the more classic. I did not like the idea of having to buff and polish out scratches on the plexiglass. It is supposed to be very easy to do, but I just preferred sapphire crystal.Even though it is less true to other Daytona design, I liked the idea of sapphire crystal caseback to observe the beautiful Rolex movement. This Daytona model has a stainless steel back.

- In my opinion this is a masterpiece of a type of watchmaking that is thankfully making a comeback, the mechanical timepiece. - Excellent Daytona! I gave away a few other inexpensive watches to relatives during my life as well. My everyday watch today is a Citizen Eco-Drive and am on my second after the first one failed after 8 years or so. Every one of these watches still keep time, even the cheap Westclox that I paid about $10 dollars for years ago at a base exchange store. Maybe it's because I don't run them every day but I heard that was also bad for a watch. In any case, I love my Daytona and I'm pretty sure it will outlast me without service.

- I have wanted this watch for fifteen years. No, I have coveted it. My fiancé bought it for me about four months ago, half out of love and half out of her being sick of hearing me pine away. When I received it I was not disappointed . It stood up to each and every declaration of hype and hubris. It is a iconic piece, a piece to be reckoned with. - Had it serviced and repaired, and have put it up against the day when the EMP or solar flare takes out all the electronic watches (also have a mechanical grandfather clock I keep regulated to internet time against that eventuality). I take it out and wind it up every month or so, just to keep the lubrication distributed. It's a good Rolex watch anyway.

- Honestly, could not improve this watch. The appearance is still absolutely classic after decades, big enough but not ridiculously large, the timekeeping is excellent. I love the steel band and strap -- and love that even more. Some have commented on the difficulty winding the watch. I experienced that also for the first couple of months. It has gotten much easier now.

- This is a great dive watch that is versatile enough to go from boardroom to beach. - I needed a durable and reliable wrist watch for my occupation as a janitorial engineer, so logically the ROLEX DAYTONA fit the bill. After numerous encounters with giant feces, sanguineous vomit, caustic cleaning fluids, and malfunctioning floor buffers, this baby still functions and looks like the day I stole ahh-umm- I mean took it out of the box after I purchased it. Gentlemen, did I mention that this watch will get you the ladies too? Women get one glance at this watch while I drink at a bar/club, and they instantly flock to me even though I am morbidly obese, slightly autistic, and have halitosis with uncontrollable flatulence. You won't find this watch on sale if you can even find the watch. If you do find one of these, consider yourself lucky and treat the sales person with respect, they probably have two buyers in line for it and be armed with $10k as that's what it'll take for you to get this guy on your wrist after taxes.

Okay for telling time, not so much for other things
- I am a bit of a gumshoe, if you will. I have always enjoyed using my timepiece as a communications tool as well. This watch, at a mere $590.16, fell short of my expectations. I was in a shootout with Mumbles, Big Boy, and Pruneface, and no matter how many times I called for backup into my wrist clock, no backup ever came. So, it's okay in keeping the time. If you want a wrist oriented communications device, be prepared for a lot of frustration. Now, it just stays in the pocket of my yellow trenchcoat.

Rather have the monkeys
- I was recently awarded a large sum of money in settlement with my local window installer. His inattention to detail, and use of peanut butter instead of caulking caused my windows to fall right out, allowing a pack of gypsy ferrets into my home. Where they caused considerable damage the the bottom of my curtains and exposed wires.
I was able to bait them into my grandma's bathroom while wearing a pair of my meat pants, fashioned out of nothing but flank steak and bacon.
Unfortunately, granny was taking one of her oatmeal baths at the same time I was baiting the ferrets. The mixture of meat and oatmeal smell was too much for their tiny olfactory bulbs to handle, so they started catapulting themselves into granny's oat bath. This startled my poor grandmother so, causing her to judo kick the bath-side toaster into the bath. The shock sent through the oaty water should have been enough to paralyze a walrus, but granny dulled her senses over the years with a gallon of PCP and two dozen raw eggs every night.
So we were both fine and ended up have roasted oat and ferret stew for dinner that night. Delectable!!

You deserve this!
- I bought this watch on a whim, I noticed the sparkle and glint cast off by the magnificient golden crown that is the Rolex' logo and said to myself damnit adam you deserve this. Well immediatly after making this purchase I decided to sell my house and move to somewhere that fits the luxourious style afforded to me and my new watch. I was looking around San Fransisco for a new beach front property when suddenly it struck me like a bolt of fresh lightening....Adam the only place for you is the SEA. I immedialty hopped into my streamlined jet..not before grabbing my mink and a couple of bottles of french wine.

- Very good Rolex Daytona watch. My only complaint is the price of this watch. That's why I bought two and wear them on both wrists so people can tell right away who the REAL Daytona is.

A purchase of envy.
- This is my second Dyatona. I bought the yellow gold Daytona first, which I wear on my left wrist. I also purchased this black Daytona – this one, I wear on my forehead. Why? I’m not sure. I just know that when people look at me now, they respect me a lot more because they think “this guy probably owns 2 Daytona and he’s probably the Master of both”. Now, people steer clear of me wherever I go because they realize they are not wealthy enough to be around me. It’s not an ego-thing with me AT ALL, but that’s how things should be.

Well worth the money
- After spending years, time, and money on this accessory I've realized that I'm able to run faster, hear better, and i honestly haven't gotten sick in the time of actually receiving it in the mail. it was packaged nicely and quite classy upon arrival. (did you know they give you a feather pen for FREE?) the pros out way the cons. pros: ITS A ROLEX. i mean come on, not lying, i instantly was noticed when i walked in a room and said "hey look at my watch...its a rolex".

- The Rolex Daytona is 40mm and now the minimum suggested size is 44mm (I can't understand why Rolex doesn't refreshes its collection). Any typical male watch from the past looks for women's now. Another negative thing about this model is that it doesn't have date (big mistake). Well anyway, this watch is also a classic, is pretty and basiclly looks good with everything and the price is not very high (I know that's not a small amount but prices nowadays are really high).

Rare, collectible, and prestigious
- I bought my Daytona this past year and it has been my go-to watch almost everyday. It has a tremendous feel of quality and it just looks great with a suit or casual dress. I have gotten quite a few compliments from the sales crew at the finer watch stores; even some of them haven't seen this watch up close and personal. With that said, if you are not a vip at an authorized dealer, expect to pay a hefty premium over msrp when buying through another source. And do expect the watch to appreciate in value via regular price increases and its exclusivity.

- Watch is incredible strong and resistive to damage. Feels great on the wrist. Favorite Rolex by far. I only wish I could find the model with red hands (white gold edition), as its even more elusive to acquire.

- A good Rolex watch but make sure you know the date of manufacture. Rolex has issued new movements over time with improved performance, so do your homework, ask questions about (and understand) the calibre number and expect value adjustments accordingly. With this Daytona you may not get them but at least you know if you have a newer or older version. Best of luck and may this be only one of many great watches in your collection!

- I was so satisfied after waiting a long time to receive this item. It came in the originalg Rolex box with a manual. The watch was clearly new without scratches and the bracelet had not been switched and had on it the newer style case with a new braclet that according to the Rolex it looked like the real one. Do not hesitate buying this Rolex Daytona here. So worthwhile and satisfying!

- It is questionable if there are better-looking watches out there, but it was fun finally finding a place that sells it. It's a jungle out there as some stores have no waiting lists or if they do, require you to be a prefer customer and some have a first-come basis policy which really depends on LUCK...forget all that, I pay whatever, give me the damn watch and I love it sooo much.

Nice watch but not the best Rolex for everyday wear for me
- I own this watch, with a black dial along with several other Rolex watches. I purchased this watch in 2011 when my Rolex Sea Dweller 4000 was stolen and replaced by homeowners insurance. I had to wait about half a month for the Daytona after paying for it in full. It cost around $590 at the time and the continuous price increases ARE a VERY nice reason for investing in a Rolex.

Comfortable to wear
- Over the years I started to rely on my cell phone instead of wearing a watch. I had a Breitling as "jewelry" for the occasions when I needed to make the right impression, but otherwise most of the time I would wear no watch.
Then--for our 25th anniversary--my wife bought a Daytona for me...
I quickly found that the Daytona is a very comfortable watch to wear; has no sharp edges and does not feel too chunky or too heavy. So now I am back to wearing a watch every day; not because I need to, but because I want to.
In addition to being comfortable, the stainless Daytona seems tough enough for daily wear, and it makes me smile every day when I see it...

- Along with new Rolex's going up in price... this Rolex does too... eventually your used Rolex is worth more than you bought it new and you can sell it to break even or make profit... and thus the reason that so many collect these Rolex timepeices. Of course... if you want to invest your money... you can find a lot greater returns at a bank or financial advisor than in a Rolex.All in all, for a watch in this price range I think qualitywatchesdepot is doing their job in protecting their customers. - I actually own this watch and I am wearing it as I type. This is known to be one of the hardest to get watches. Authorized dealers are given ONE per year (actually two, but one is black-faced, and one is gray faced). The gray faced is the most demanded, thus more rare. I waited over a year to get mine, and only by luck did I get mine. This Daytona is one of the most classic ones among all the Rolexes. It signifies the start of a new era for Rolex... in which EVERY watch, EVERY component, and EVERY piece is made entirely by Rolex across all watches in their production.

Excellent dinner watch
- 1. It's STUNNINGLY gorgeous, and I mean just drop dead beautiful.
2. It is absolutely an attention getter.
3. Women are very impressed by the watch.
4. Has some serious heft/weight to it. It's built like a tank.

Rolex DAYTONA Satisfied!
- This was my first "high end" watch. I actually bought this one in qualitywatchesdepot at an "unauthorized" dealer. Yes I know. But i verified the Ser# and had it inspected after the purchase. Was able to get this for $590.16 out the door. I wore this watch daily. Its as accurate as I'd like it to be. I have to admit the price of one of these things is a bit outrageous! Would I buy another Rolex here. I love the watch and it was my first high end automatic watch I will keep it well. It is still worth something to me.

Lifetime watch - not for Honda drivers
- I have had my ROLEX DAYTONA PRO HUNTER for more than 5 years (21st birthday present) and have never taken it off except for regular service. I wear it everyday and it is still nice enough to be complimented by the envious. I also have my dad's watch (GMT Master) which was bought in Tokyo a few days before, but i think the Daytona is better than the GMT Master.
About price it is really attractive, and for the taste, you can compare a Honda to a Mercedes but you don't compare a Mercedes to a Honda. Figure that one out.
