The one must have watch for your collection!!
- This is a classic watch that I believe is being phased out by Rolex, which I why I pulled the trigger on buying this when I did (I bought mine through qualitywatchesdepot about a year ago). The Submariner watch has a very beautiful blue dial which is almost identical to the basic Submariner. The only difference and my ONLY complaint about this watch is that the Rolex logo is painted .

I think the Submariner's performance is great among mechanicals.
- For a mechanical watch, this keeps great time (mine gains about 3-6 seconds per day), for a mechanical that is. My battery-powered citizen loses less than a second per month, so anyone buying a mechanical watch needs to understand that this is going to be a trade-off. That said, I think the Submariner's performance is great among mechanicals.

- I like the simple dial - very easy to read and the bubble over the date is just plain cool. The only down side is that there are cosmetically perfect copies from China out there so if you need to use a watch to impress people, you may want to look elsewhere. But if you desire one of the world's greatest timepieces, look no further.

It still works well now
- I also remember the James Bond films (and the books) and bought my Rolex Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner off a friend in 1963. He had bought it new a couple of years earlier and we were big into scuba diving and early underwater photography. It looks a lot like the other Submariners from the same period, but has a couple of differences. 1. The writing is in gold letters on the black face and not white letters. 2. It has the word SWISS under the 6 hour marker.

Cure for Rolex running fast
- I just got my hands on a 3 year old submariner. Man, it's awesome! If your rolex is running 2 minutes faster every month, this is what you should do: Lay it vertical with the crown facing down as this will tend to loose a few seconds each night. If it's running slow, lay it flat with the dial facing up.

Its a good watch for me.
- The `cyclops eye' over the date window seems to get the worst of it and it's scratch free. Other than to repair a broken bracelet clasp it has never been serviced. I've heard some people criticize how heavy and bulky it is, but you're not going to find a wafer-thin `elegant' timepiece that will pass the tests this one will. Its a good watch for me.

Can be a good Rolex watch but it felt really bulky for me
- Maybe on the two-tone models the clasp at least looks cooler from the outside, but on the 116613 I thought the Rolex crown looked cheap, and I share the same opinion of the equally cheap-looking diving extension. And with this heavy case and relatively light bracelet, wearing this watch felt like wearing a weight tied onto your wrist by string. It felt really bulky for me; I guess that would be the main bullet point here. If you do not care about this point, it will be a great watch for you.

The dial took my breath away, and it looked great on me when I wore pretty much anything
- First of all, the watch is epic, so prestigious yet so discreet in doing it, and when you wear it there is such a sense of majesty. The watch is so deceptively simple, with a magnificent blue dial, immaculate luminous markers, crisp white writing on the dial, and hands which are simple and functional. The dial took my breath away, and it looked great on me when I wore pretty much anything, and there was a certain beauty of its unelegant workhorse movement, but unfortunately with me, that is where the praises stop.

Untimate Dependability
- Also having read the original James Bond books as a lad, I was taken with Bond's Rolex Submariner. Later, as a US Marine, I went to scuba school. Upon graduation, I received the ultimate men's watch. That watch went with me to more than two years in Viet Nam and I still have it to this day. It's a classic, it's dependable and it's tough. What more needs to be said?

So good a Rolex watch
- After 3 years without a single tune-up, the Rolex was very beat up but still ran. I quickly handed it over to a licensed Rolex dealer to do work on the watch. Revamping the watch completely cost me a little more than $100. As other raters have mentioned, $100 is expensive for a watch tune up. But most watches won't be running, or worth saving, after 3 years of daily use.

- Never have I been so satisfied with a certain watch. Coming from a wealthy family from the countryside of Connecticut, I needed not only a watch that fitted my elite status but a piece of jewelry that told strangers that I am better than you. - It is a good Rolex watch except some small negatives:
The band wears fast if it is two-tone or solid gold. If you want durability, buy the stainless steel watch.
Rolex and all the major watch brands have made it impossible to find replacement parts since the year 2000. This means you must send your watch to Rolex and pay them $1000 to service your watch, when what you need is a $50 part. This is really hurting the watch repair business. The inability to buy parts, in my opinion, dramatically reduces the investment potential of any product.
Buying a Rolex is expensive, but so is owning one. Your best lubricants last about 6 years, so your watch should be serviced every 5 years.
Any way, the price is reasonable to have such kind of quality guarantee.

It's handled rough wearing pretty well.
- It's handled rough wearing pretty well. I'm pretty rough with all my watches and I must say for an automatic with tiny gears inside, it's taken the abuse well. During exercise I use the bezel as a low tech alternative to a stopwatch, I point it to the minute hand when I start and it gives me a rough idea of how long I've been. It's also enough of a classic that I can wear it to semi-formal affairs.

lucky to have one
- I am fortunate enough to own a submariner 116613, my father bought it for me from qualitywatchesdepot.
I only wear it on special occasions since it looked valued at around 10k even though my father bought it with just $590.16. After around 2 years of daily wear it still runs like new. It has only been serviced twice. If you want a watch that you can pass down to family and be worth something, this is probably the the one to get.

- It is absolutely my favorite material possession. I have worn it every day since 2012 with the exception of two weeks while it was being serviced. It cost me 100 bucks but it came back beautiful and runs a consistent 2 minutes slow a month. My only gripes with the watch are that it has the plastic crystal instead of the sapphire (it scratches very easily), $100 is a rediculous price to pay to have a watch serviced, and it has made me rather obsessive about time. I bought an atomic clock and set the Submariner religiously at the beginning of each month.

A good Rolex without any regret
- Back in August of 2011, I decided it was time to get my Submariner serviced. It was still working fine, but the last time it had been serviced, Osama bin Laden was the answer to a Trivial Pursuit question, so I figured it was time. In an ill-starred effort to save a few bucks, I took the watch to a local jeweler (not Rolex authorized), who sent the watch to an independent watchmaker with whom they had a service contract.
The watchmaker somehow managed to damage the threads on the case back. I was informed (after roughly a two-month wait) that the watch would need a new case -- at a price I even now shudder to contemplate. When I finally received the watch, some kind of oily residue was on the dial. I insisted they return the watch to have the dial cleaned. It is fine now.

- Rolex was the first watch to summit Everest... that's good enough for me. I would buy this watch again in a second. But mine is working just fine. I'm sure I'll probably be passing it down the family line. I got mine without the date for a reason. If I don't wear it for a couple days it stops.

- i bought the 114060 before, you can't go wrong with either version, they're both great watches, so it really just comes down to personal preference. There is no denying the movement in this newer version is probably a better movement simply because of all the new research Rolex has put into it including the new anti-magnetic hairspring.

- This watch features the patented Triplock crown, which means there are three separate waterproof seals-no leaks here. Combine that with the Oyster case, and you have one impenetrable watch case. The dial is a rich glossy black lacquer over brass, which really gives it depth. The hour markers and hand are 18 carat white gold, which really makes them shine and pop off the face. And the Cerachrom bezel is a glossy black which perfectly compliments the face. The bracelet is made up of solid links, and the clasp is a masterpiece in itself. The level of adjustment is great, and the lockup smooth and secure. While all this sounds flashy, this really is a watch that wants to be used. I wear mine 24/7, during almost all activities, and I cannot fault it. If is a comfortable, hard wearing and good looking watch.

- Great classic watch. Hard to find discounts on new ones in USA these days, so when you go on cruises in Caribbean be ready as 15 to 20 percent can be found from reputable dealers. Rolex does allow discounting despite what most us jewel ears try to tell you, they just don't care enough to make a sale sometimes.
Had this guy for 15 years without issue. Never even had it serviced yet and keeps good time.

Having this Rolex, you can save yourself money and frustration and it is a nice dress watch.
- If you want the history, fame, durability and technology of the Sub, then there is no other choice. The Depsea is fine, but another quarter inch thicker which is like dog inches making it somewhat excessive for daily wear.
The Sub is the definition of classic with many firsts. First waterproof watch. First rotating bezel. First crown shoulders. In my book, this watch is the next step in the evolution of a legend. Unfortunately, it has no competition except with itself. The Sub defines this entire category of watch. For me, this watch is the ultimate in function, form, and watch history. Everything else either is a copy or falls short. Everything!

This is a modernized version of the classic Submariner.
- I recommend this watch if you plan to be on the water (much less dive). I have not pay any dollars to repair the watch over several years (even though my initial cost is less). Two years ago I nearly had water damage and thanked to wearing this watch in an 8' deep pool. it has no problem even from showering, but advises not to wear it in the shower or near water,even though it is absurd to own a "dive watch" but have to take it off prior to showering. Having this Rolex, you can save yourself money and frustration and it is a nice dress watch.

- I got the Rolex Submariner stainless steel blue Dial as a gift and I am loving it. I was wanting to get the Daytona black dial but this is much better classy Rolex. The Daytona has been worn out so much that it lost it prestige. The Rolex Submariner blue dial is very useful watch to ware all the time and especially during diving. Its one of the most practical Rolex watch. I have a 4 Rolex watch is this by far most practical watch I have owned in a long time. Rolex is the best ... second to none.

- The automatic chronometer is great if you love an automatic watch. The winding rolex's are great, but nothing beats automatic chronometer. This watch will last you a lifetime and is water proof up to 100 meters I believe. The Submariner really can't be beat. Great Watch! Better Alternatives
- First of all, I have had this watch for over a year now and it is more than great. Rolex makes great watches and this is just the best of the best. The 40 mm size is perfect for the average male wrist and the blue and gold work so well together. It doesn't work for every occasion, but it sure turns a lot of heads. It is very unique and timeless. The watch is heavy but manageable; any lighter and it wouldn't feel as strong as it really is. The heavy oyster bracelet is very smooth and is a great weight for the band. Some bands tend to be too heavy or too light compared to the weight of the watch face.

- Dashed good piece for a submariner. Classic yet bold statement, and rather inexpensive as well. It goes perfectly with the standard submariner regalia - blue linen pants, navy blazer, and blue yachting cap - with gold trimmings, of course.
However, this watch does have limited maritime applications. I found it utterly wrong when aboard my personal submarine - far too bold for those environs. The Patek Philippe Aquanaut is a more fitting choice. anyway, i wear this striking watch the most!!!

- Turns out I am left-handed, so I insist on wearing this little blue and gold number I purchased ,after taking a full distribution on my $600 account, on my right wrist. - You could also see what time it is from your cell phone or one of those god awful "public" watches known as clocks that they have just about everywhere there are people but who wants to rely on "government handouts" when you can purchase your very own Rolex. - This is the real deal. It is so much better than my Casio A158W-1. With this, I can tell the time, and also have a stop watch. without any drawback... like the Casio, it does have day/date and it has some kind of an illuminator on this thing... its about as good as the Casio at telling time. - While it is a large watch (bulky but I consider it a carry on) it is not too obtrusive like those "rappers" "bling" you see in the Mr. Z videos. A must-have in your life
- Wow , at an affordable price this is a great time piece , after selling my 1998 Honda I only had 35k to go, so I sold my kids to a nice family off craigslist (thanks Amanda and James) I was down to 15k. - This timepiece (PLEASE don’t call it a ‘watch’ - GOSH) is unbearably exquisite. It is so jarringly splendid and exquisitely superb that I curl up in the fetal position and weep in agonizing ecstasy every time I gaze upon it for too long. I fainted the first time I saw it. I opened the cardboard box it came in, removed the sheet that said “MAID IN CHINA”, and upon seeing it, I stopped breathing, went into convulsions and spoke in tongues right before fainting. That’s how exponentially magnificent it is. I have to cover it up with duct tape when I’m driving so as not to accidently gaze upon its titillating angelic perfectness . It looks really good.

It works great as a pillow and if you need to reach somthing you just take it off put it on the ground and there you go you're half an inch taller.
- I just wanna say the free shipping really lured me in. Second when i went and sold my house and my car all I could think about how much of a deal I was getting and if that's not a steal I don't know what is. Third when your homeless you can use your watch for just about anything. this is by far the best
- I have a few other not so swiss rolex's and this is by far the best. I just got a Submariner from another company and its a giant turd and not even the least bit correct. I plan to get my money back and go back to the company I purchased this one from. This was not purchased on qualitywatchesdepot. Read the review for search details... I hope you find what you are looking for

Amazing!
- Before this watch, i was nothing more than a sad s*** lump that was sitting in the corner of a room. I finally decided to make something of my life and buy me a watch. I went on qualitywatchesdepot and typed in SOLID GOLD WATCH. This beauty came up and i instantly started salivating until my laptop started to smoke from all the saliva that was in it. I had to resort to building a stable internet connection with a potato, a shoe string, and my grandmothers gold tooth. I was finally on the internet, and decided to buy this pearl. I jammed my cash into the CD drive and in 1 months came my watch. I can honestly say after owning this watch... i still feel like a s*** lump.. instead with a divine way of telling time on my wrist.

Looks great!
- I have an older model and the one which is pictured.
An older model has issues with the bracelet. It has hollow links and in time it stretches, so if the one has this watch long enough you need an adjustment of the bracelet. The older model doesn't have in-house movement. I prefer the blue color of the older model it has more life.
The new model has way better bracelet. It has solid links and totally new adjustment system - just great. It larger that the old one and heavier. This model has Rolex in-house movement. I'm not sure that I like the new cerachrom blue cover of the besel and the same color face. It is not as lovely as previous cover. However I had no choice. Looks great!!!!!!

Two Tone 18k Rolex
- Very nice Swiss Classic watch. Comes in stainless, stainless and gold, two tone, and solid 18k.
This model is the two tone 18k.
I have had a stainless one for 5 years and this two tone 18 k for 15 years without issue. Never even had either serviced yet and keeps good time. I think the service recommendation and gasket change is mostly to suck money out of us needlessly as this watch is a tank.
Hard to find discounts on new ones in USA these days, so when you go on cruises in Caribbean be ready as 15 to 20 percent can be found from reputable dealers. Rolex does allow discounting despite what most us jewel ears try to tell you, they just don't care enough to make a sale sometimes.

it's ok, four stars
- Beautiful watch, kept pretty good time (only off by ten minutes each hour) but I just couldn't get over the fact that it was just 18k and not 24k. So I returned it and bought a 5 ounce chunk of gold which I now wear around my wrist. It keeps lousy time, but it sure is a conversation starter!

- Very nice watch. Good size, very good built quality, a head turner if I may say so. Just wished this Submariner used Swiss 3135 automatic movement for this. Would have been perfect. affordable, 100% satisfaction on the customer service, of course, quality guarantee that was out of my expectation. 5 stars just the same.

Have mine for twenty seven years. Never needed repair. Works perfectly. Daily use.
- I spotted this watch, and found it rather cute. Not sufficiently large to accentuate my own larger-than-life persona, but acceptable for lesser men and women, or even congressmen. I decided I would give it as gift to the executives in my top five companies. I ended up firing a few of them, when I found them wearing Omega Spacemasters instead. Honestly! You run a billion-dollar corporation and wear a digital watch? A man with so little class as that cannot and will not run any of my industries. The executives I didn't fire were quite thrilled with their gifts.
I do recommend it highly, as a dashed solid gift for the little people in your life.

I decided the Rolex was the way to go
- My 1997 Toyota Camry is gone, my dog is gone, my single wide trailer is gone, but I happily gave all those items up to be able to purchase this watch. I've been selling sperm for side money and my grocery store bagging job is going great now that I have this arm piece. Soon I'll be a cashier and it will really aid me in ringing up customers who don't know what time it is. Double whammy!!! I'm in great shape now that I ride my bike to work everyday and don't eat anything because I don't have pot to piss in but I'm always on time. Awesome. The sacrifices are worth it- don't hesitate and wait on deciding to buy this Rolex. Do it today. Who cares if you don't have a home, car, or food.

Beautiful watch at a great price
- I didn't know if this was the watch for me at first. I originaly planned on going down to walmart and buying a $30 watch, but one night I was online and I stumbled upon this beauty. $590.16 is a lot to ask for a watch so I contemplated it for several weeks, not wanting to rush into things. At last, I had made a decision! I sold my house, gave up cocaine and prostitutes, and bought the watch! To be honest what really sold me on it was the free shipping!

great choice for diving
- My advice, if you have good eyesight, have a little patience, and are not a type A personality, is to purchase the Heavy Duty Watch Band Tool Link Pin Remover for about $3.75. I got my wife a companion watch and successfully removed several links from both watches with no problem. You are going to have to either do this yourself or go get someone to do it for you. That is unless you want to use the watch as a bracelet. I have known a couple of folks that did this with genuine Rolex watches. They didn't want to remove the gold links & maybe lose them. Or maybe it was a style issue.

- Okay. the qualiity looks good. A little bid to heavy and thick in the case. The design is absolutely fine. once you were wear it, you will have people looking at it. They will ask you where did you get it and how much did you pay for it. To me the price is unbelievable. It came well packaged not scratched and in its own box. The only downfall to me was it was to lose. Nothing biggy, better to be lose than to be tight. Thank god, I just had a link remover tool I can do it myself. This watch is a eye catcher you wont be sorry.

perfect, the feeling could not be better any more
- Finally I have my own Rolex watch! Though it is replicas, I fell in love with this beautiful watch in my hands and I do not need to I sell my car....my family...my girlfriend....heck even myself to buy this damn watch. Because it is just about five hundred more dollars! I am still wearing this awesome watch everyday and I am currently sleeping on my comfortable bed while appreciating this fantastic watch. - Yes, I finally chose this one and gave up the black dial one, and it did not let me down, it looks more fashionable and I love catching up fashion. Its so shiny and looks like the real one, my friend even thought I bought the real one! I was so happy with that. I love the Luminous time scales so much, I can read time clearly at midnight. 590.16 dollars really save me so much as I was on a budget then. The 100m waterproof also makes me satisfied, I can take it to go diving or go swimming etc. its so best for me.
