The differences between the old and the new models

Old Day-Date are based on acrylic glass, this glass can make the case design looks thinner, and it has the advantage of warm jade, hand-touch no cold feeling sapphire glass; The modern version is more like the feeling of jewelry, luxury flicker is not so suitable for daily wear for a long time, it is a kind of “flashes of pressure”; The Day-Date is offered in yellow gold, pink gold, and platinum. All early models of the Day-Date are water resistant up to 50 meters and new models can withstand 100 meters.

The change in 2008

Rolex Day-Date from the 1950s to the previous years, the size has not changed, is 36mm, but the table diameter 36 mm is not suitable for everyone.  Highly successful men were starting to look to watch models that had an even stronger visual impact that matched their strengths in leadership and innovation. This trend towards larger watches prompted Rolex to create the 41mm Day Date II featuring the president bracelet in 2008. 41 mm diameter, with heads of state and crown clasp type strap, seem to be more in line with the aesthetic standards of modern business people. The larger replica Rolex Day Date II had a commanding look that featured the same functionality and design as the classic 36mm Day Date.

Rolex Day-Date 40mm

The Rolex Day-Date in 40mm is basically a larger version of the classic 36mm Day-Date where the 41mm Day-Date II was just a different type of watch. Rolex put more effort into the design of the Day-Date, they also updated the movement. With more effort into the design of the new 40mm version,  the Rolex Day-Date 40mm is therefore more elegant on the wrist and probably suits about every wrist size. Men with smaller wrist can still decide to go for the original 36mm version of the Rolex Day-Date of course. For now, Rolex introduced the Day-Date 40mm in 18 carat white gold, yellow gold, Everose gold and the cream of the crop is of course the platinum version.
