History of the Yacht Master

In 1992, Rolex launched the Rolex Yacht-Master ( the 18k yellow gold 16628) which is a combined sailing and divers watch. Originally, the watch was only sold in 18k yellow gold but in 1997 they released the Yacht Master in Rolesium(stainless steel and platinum) model, which was an instant success. Rolex later developed a second model (Yacht-Master II) with upgraded features that allowed synchronisation, ‘Regatta’ countdown programming function and program lock system.

Rolex Yacht-Master is designed to withstand all the rough conditions faced during the yacht racing. Although it is a sports watch but, it looks attractive and aesthetic. The Yacht Master and Yacht Master II are beautifully crafted watches designed and produced by Rolex. They all have metal bracelets and numbered bezels. Cases and bracelets are available in stainless steel, yellow gold, white gold and a steel/gold alloy, along with platinum and a platinum/steel alloy. The model is currently available with either a blue, gold, or white face.

Now, Rolex has released the new 40mm Yacht-Master models, which shines everyone’s eyes for being a dazzling new Everrose gold iteration. By combining 904L steel with 18K Everose gold for its “Rolesor” case, the timepiece is then finished with a dark chocolate dial and soft pink hue. It looks elegant and sporty, and it is very suitable to outdoor activities. There’s also steel and platinum colorways offered, if rose gold isn’t your preferred style. However, it seems not to be cheap. It is expected to retail at around $11,500 via official Rolex dealers.
