No one brand dominates the watch market quite like Rolex. Everyone dreams to have a Rolex. But what makes Rolex so popular? I think that the unique features in design by Rolex can probably answer you.

The Oyster Case

The Oyster case- Rolex’s unique watch case, was invented in 1926 and was the world’s first waterproof case for a wristwatch. This unique Oyster case, is excellent in both form and function. Regardless of construction material – steel, gold, or platinum – the case is  robust and waterproof  and guarantees the movement protection from the elements. 

The Stainless Steel

You may or may not know that stainless steel comes in various grades and types. Most watches are made from a type called 316L, but Rolex uses 904L – a type of steel that, to my knowledge, no one else uses.In 1985, Rolex started using the 904L stainless steel alloy, which is one of the toughest steel grades you can find today. The 904L is used primarily in the aerospace and chemical industries and in the world of high-technology.

Uncompromising build quality

The huge popularity of Rolex can be attributed to its elegance, craftsmanship and quality of material used in manufacturing all of its products. Rolex watches despite their elegant and sporty looks, are in fact built like tanks! The bracelets and the clasps are simply excellent. Most modern Rolex timepieces are equipped with a new clasp system called “glidelock” which can be used to adjust the bracelet on the fly without having to use any tools whatsoever. As far as I know, this is completely unique to Rolex. What’s more, some of the Rolex sports watches including the Rolex Sea-Dweller, Replica Rolex Submariner and Rolex Daytona watches feature something called the Triplock winding crown seal. This is an extra seal in the threads of the winding crown’s tube, and can be viewed when the winding crown is unscrewed.
